The newly-renovated Placid Lakes Golf Course And Country Club has a great reputation as one of the best courses to play in Central Florida.

There is a small airport with homes on the strip for those who want to live where they fly. There is even an aeromodelers club and park (RC planes, helicopters, etc.).

There is a walk-in entrance to Lake June Scrub State Park.

This community really has a mix of nice older homes with many newer homes. The development is located between the two big lakes: June & Placid. Homes range from the $50s to $500,000 with quite a bit of newer homes in the low 100s.

Lake June is a large lake - 3500 acres - and it is BEAUTIFUL! Most people think Lake June is the BEST lake in the county with the yearly fireworks show (this is a big show), lakefront restaurant (actually on lake Henry, but accessible), several great parks and beaches and access to two other beautiful lakes. You can also boat up to the shores of Lake June Scrub State Park to see the family of Bald Eagles, Osprey and more.

On the other side of the development is Lake Placid, which is also very nice and around 3500 acres. There is a park and ramps here too.
